Troubleshooting Camera Issues in Windows 11

If your camera is not working in Windows 11, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Check Privacy Settings:

    • Go to Start > Settings > Privacy > Camera.
    • Ensure that the application you are using has permission to access the camera.
  2. Verify Camera in BIOS:

    • Restart your computer and enter the BIOS setup.
    • Locate the Enable Camera option under the Integrated Devices section and ensure it is enabled.
  3. Test the Camera:

    • Open the built-in Camera app by searching for "Camera" in the Start menu.
    • Check if you receive a video feed. If it works, the issue may be with a specific application.
  4. Check for Windows Updates:

    • Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update.
    • Select Check for updates and install any available updates.
  5. Run the Camera Troubleshooter:

    • Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
    • Locate the Camera section and click Run.
  6. Update Drivers:

    • Open Device Manager by pressing the Windows key + Q and typing "Device Manager".
    • Expand the Cameras or Imaging Devices section.
    • Right-click on your camera and select Update driver.
  7. Reinstall Webcam Drivers:

    • In Device Manager, right-click on your camera and select Uninstall.
    • Restart your computer; Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers.
  8. Run Hardware Diagnostics:

    • Use Dell's hardware diagnostics tool to test the internal webcam.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the camera issues in Windows 11.

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them.  Click the "Get Help Now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. If already out of warranty, click here for the Dell out of warranty offering.

@DELL-Jesse L

Jesse, I tried everything above except BIOS as Dell QCS1250 doesn't support that.  The Monitor's webcam Dell S2422HZ will not work with Win11. I tried 2 Dell PCs with Win11 and no luck. Even yesterday got Dell Tech Support to remote in and give it a try, no luck either they even thought monitor was bad which is not the case as webcam works on my HP laptop running Win10.  So either it's Dell firmware issue on Monitor or Dell PC with Win11.

Can't seem to pin point issue to resolve this, very annoying.

Also tried HDMI with USB cable A-C port and also tried DP with USB cable A-C port. Cabling is not an issue since it works with Win10.

Device Manager wont even list the camera since it doesn't get detected by the USB port. Yes, tried all the USB ports on PC.
