Dell XPS 15 7590 Time-of-day not set, Invalid configuration information - please run SETUP program

Every couple of days my laptop will not boot properly, and I will receive 2 warning messages. The first message says: "Time-of-day not set - please run SETUP program." The second message says: "Invalid configuration information - please run the SETUP program." I noticed that whenever this issue occurs, the BIOS clock will be reset. I have tried resetting the BIOS settings back to the default settings. I also tried updating Windows 10 to version 1903, but nothing I have tried has fixed the issue. As mentioned previously, the issue only occurs every couple days, and everything seems to work aside from this issue, but it is just frustrating because the laptop is relatively new, and I just expect it work. Has anyone run into any similar issues? Or does anyone know how to resolve this issue? Please help, all suggestions will be appreciated.

Even though the system may be fairly new, that sounds like a CMOS (coin cell) battery that is failing. Or the battery may be loose or making poor contact in the holder.

My XPS15 also show this problem. It's brand new, but so many wizard things. My laptop can't startup without  AC Adapter, even if  battery is full. When I press the start button, there is no response, and then insert AC adapter, the computer startup automatically, but show error as you said.  While it can normally startup with AC adapter, and then work without AC adapter.  I run the diagnostic, which showed no problem. I contacted the Dell support,  who even didn't response to me or give any information, although I have ordered premium support.

Hi Connor96, If this is not yet fixed after replacing the cmos battery. try to download the latest bios software for your laptop. just type in the serial number in this website to find the latest driver available. www.support.dell.com. after downloading it create a free dos bootable usb drive. then copy the bios file in the usb. step 1. press F2 key. step 2. go to management then click bios update. step 3. bios flash update or bios update. step 4. click flash from file. your bootable device must be inserted. step 5. chose the bios file. XPS_13_2_0_9 (my latest bios driver). let it finish to install, be sure that the power adapter is plug in. after that its either continue to the OS, if the OS is still not corrupted other is you will receive Bsod on your screen. and then its time to reformat it using a USB tool. This is base on my experience with 2 XPS laptops xps13 9370 and XPS 13 9365 2in1 laptops. I just fixed it today. Hope this will help you!
