Power Adapter
I purchased a laptop that had a battery option available.
The standard option is a 65 watt battery and the laptop shipped with a 65 watt power adapter.
The next option is a 90 watt battery and the laptop shipped with a 90 watt power adapter.
I purchased the 90 watt battery with a 90 watt power adapter.
One day when I booted my laptop I started getting a post message that says a 65 watt power supply cannot be identified and provides several post options one of which has to be selected for the laptop to boot.
I assume the BIOS is designed to work with a 65 watt power supply and if it does not see 65 watts where it is more or less wattage the BIOS will take issue with it?
When I looked in the BIOS the information is blank where the power supply information goes.
Any information regarding this would be appreciated.

The power adapter isn't a supported adapter and could not be recognized by the laptop. Until you provide an OEM power adapter for your laptop, non-supported adapter may power the system but will be blocked from charging the battery.
