XPS 13 (9370) Battery Failure!

We have had 3 of the 5 XPS 13 (9370) computers in our office that have had immediate battery failure.  The battery was working fine no indications of a problem.  Next day the computer light on the front is flashing orange and the computer will not boot unless it is plugged in.

My concern is that this is the 3rd computer that this has happened to.  The first computer (new in 9/2018) still had onsite warranty so it was fixed immediately.  The second computer (new in 4/2018) had onsite warranty that had expired 2 weeks after the issue and was covered by the extended mail in warranty that we purchased.  The third computer (new 9/2018) the same issue occurred today.

Obviously my concern is the 2 other computers.   I wonder if there is a problem that a recall should be issued.  Too coincidental that all three same model less than a year old had the same issue.  Has anyone else had this happen with this model?

Sorry, it is unfortunately absolutely not uncommon that these batteries last just over a year. You can try starting battery calibration to detect abnormal degradation and demand warranty replacement before the year ends.

If you use laptops mostly plugged-in, consider setting max charge to 80-90% (in BIOS, or preferably using Dell Command | Power Manager, so that you can change this without rebooting when you know you will need full charge). Cycling the battery isn't good, because it presumably lasts about 300-500 full cycles, but there is no way around this if you need it.

I had a similar issue with my Dell XPS 13" 9370 in Indonesia, I was purchased the product 1 year ago in July 2018 and just a few days after the warranty expired the battery was having a problem with the same symptoms, first the flashing orange in the front LED and the battery won't charged, so now I have to plugged the power cord when using the laptop.

I was wondering why a premium product such as XPS could come with bad battery quality?? and unfortunately the availability of this battery part is very hard to find in Indonesia

I hope Dell could help me with this issue and provide more battery parts in Indonesia for XPS product.

Thanks.

I am also having issues with my battery.  My XPS 13 was purchased in March of 2018 and the battery is now failing.  I do not use it on battery very often so this is not an end of normal life issue.  Based on the posts from others, there appears to be a defect with this battery.  I expect more from a Dell computer that cost over $3,000.00.

Hi

Kindly release this fix as soon as possible.

Even my XPS 9370 battery failed.

Even i have experience in using laptops for 15 years.

This is a driver/update issue. Now its not east to travel with this laptop.

I used thinkpad for 10 years in the same way and i replaced battery only after 5 years. The power reduced gradually and not suddenly .
