XPS13 touchpad - left click not working

I replaced the touchpad and found that the same problem exists. For some reason, the left side of the touchpad sits lower than the right. The right click works fine, but the left does not. It seems to be sitting in chassis unevenly, but I can't see anything holding up one side when I take it apart. Could the chassis be warped?

Thanks!

Check the battery for signs of swelling.  If the battery is swelling, it can impede the trackpad buttons -- and should be removed immediately and disposed of.

The system will run without a battery until you can get a replacement - but if it's swelling, get it out before it damages the system.

An update: When I remove the back, the touchpad sits perfectly aligned and works like a champ. I obviously can't work with it backless, so what's the solution? I don't think a new back will solve the problem. So...?

That was it! With all the press about exploding Li-ion batteries, I'm really grateful that you alerted me to this issue.

Thanks and kudos!!
