I purchased a Alienware desktop PC almost 3 weeks ago, yet it has not entered production status yet. Due to the parts shortage how long should I expect to wait until it enters production?

If I see a better deal on an Alienware PC should I buy that and cancel my Dell order if I don't get any updates from Dell?
