Intel Hdc Driver Update
Windows Update site notified me that it had detected a hardware device for which it had an updated driver to allow that device to work with Windows. So I downloaded and apparantly successfully installed "Intel Hdc Driver Version 2.0.0.2093."
I haven't had any performance problems before or after this download, but I did note that in my 'Device Manager', under "Hard Disk Controllers", that both the Primary and Secondary IDE Controllers were replaced with Primary and Secondary Ultra ATA Controllers respectively; furthermore both these replacements were marked with a yellow exclamation mark and were non-functional due to missing drivers.
Well I figured this was probably not good, so I uninstalled the update, but am left curious as to just what the purpose of this updated driver was. Thanks.
