Let me first explain my setup. I have a Compaq Presario desktop wired to both the broadband modem and a Linksys WRT54G v1.1 wireless router. Then I have an Inspiron 600m connected wirelessly about 30 feet away.

 

I am constantly losing internet connection on the 600m. We're talking around 25-30 times per day. I would get internet connection for about 5-15 minutes then it would cut out and it would not be accessible for about 10-30 mins no matter what I did. (IP release/renew, reboot) While I had no internet connectivity on the 600m, the mini pci adapter that came with the 600m would indicate that signal strength and connectivty would be at 100%, eventhough I cannot access any web pages on both firefox and explorer. When the 600m is experiencing the loss of internet connection, the Compaq Presario, that is wired to the router and modem, is able to connect to the internet with no problems. I believe that this problem has something to do with the 600m, as others are having the same problems.

 

This problem has been ongoing for 2 years now and I am ready for a solution. If anyone has any ideas or can provide any help whatsoever, it would be greatly appreciated.
