Ultrasharp 2407WFP Semi-Locks (Weird?)

First off, I'd like to state that this issue does not have anything to do with my computer or videocard.  I've tested the monitor (2407 WFP) on multiple inputs such as DVI, VGA and even Component input.  The problem is reproducible.

Problem:

- Monitor behaves normally until the MENU button is depressed.  After which time, no buttoms will do anything.  The menu does not pop up either.

- All buttons, including the power button does not function after the MENU button has been pressed.

- In this button-locked state, the display still displays everything properly.  Mouse still moves on it fine.

- In this button-locked state, if the current input device (eg. DVI input) is unplugged then display turns black as expected but when it's plugged back in, the display stays black.

- The only way I've managed to get the monitor out of this power-locked state is by unplugging the power then plugging it back in.

- Again, this problem is reproducible when using any of the input ports on the monitor, and only the MENU button triggers the button-lockup.  Other buttons seems to work fine.

-  When no input devices are present and the monitor is on, strangely, the MENU button does not trigger the lockup.  This lockup only occurs when the monitor is switched to an active input.

Can anyone please help me on this issue?  I've read a bunch of stuff on these forums and found some regarding lockups but they all refer to some lock icon that appears on the screen.  This does not happen with mine.  When the button-lock problem occurs, the display still displays normally, just that none of the button works, so I can't even turn it off.

I know I'm supposed to get this ID number from my monitor for the post but I'm not at home right now so I can't access that number.  I also don't even know where to look for the number.

Please help.
