Dell Unity XT 380 + Trend Micro ServerProtect for Storage – CAVA scanning failures

Hi everyone,

We are troubleshooting a CAVA integration between a Dell Unity XT 380 and Trend Micro ServerProtect for Storage.

The CAVA/antivirus integration has been enabled on the Unity, and the audit log confirms that the request to enable CAVA for the NAS Server completed successfully. However, the antivirus scanning functionality is not working correctly.

The main issue is that files are not being scanned consistently/correctly, and we have not been able to get the CAVA integration to perform a successful and reliable scan.

We have observed the following errors on the Unity:

- Error Code: 0x67022a1
"The Virus Checker could not be disabled."

- Error: 13:10510004

We have also verified that the CAVA configuration points to the Trend Micro ServerProtect for Storage/CEE server, but we are unsure what additional parameters or components should be checked to determine the root cause.

Environment:

- Dell Unity XT 380
- Trend Micro ServerProtect for Storage
- CAVA / Common Event Enabler integration
- Windows server hosting the antivirus/CEE components

We would like to know:

1. What does error 0x67022a1 indicate in this scenario?
2. What does error 13:10510004 indicate?
3. Are these errors related to the CAVA configuration, communication with the CAVA server, or the antivirus/CEE service?
4. What logs or commands should we collect from the Unity to troubleshoot this?
5. What should we verify on the CEE/ServerProtect side?
6. Is there a recommended procedure to verify that a file submitted by Unity is actually reaching ServerProtect and being scanned?
7. Are there any known compatibility or configuration issues between Unity XT 380 CAVA and Trend Micro ServerProtect for Storage?
8. Are there any specific ports or firewall rules that should be verified between Unity and the CAVA/CEE server?

We have already reviewed the CAVA configuration and attempted to enable/disable the Virus Checker, but the scanning functionality still does not work as expected.

Any guidance on the recommended troubleshooting procedure or additional logs that should be collected would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
