I have an Dell 8400.  I have (had) an HP laserjet 4 connected to the parallel connector (LPT1) working fine for many years.  LPT1 stopped working, moved the printer to LPT2 (aa spare parallel port card), and the printer is workking.  After many tests I have decided that the port is bad.  Has anyone out there ever replace a parallel/LPT1 port??
