I have had a 600m for about two years without problems. Today it started beeping every 3 seconds.

I removed the ac adaptor and the battery. For a while it ran without beeping but then the beeping came back. It happens with both ac and battery.

I ran the hardware diagnostics (f12 at startup) and nothing showed up wrong. Well, actually I did get an error message -- it told me to reattach ac power (since it hadnt told me to remove ac power during the test I hadnt), when I told it to retry, it did tell me to disconnect and then reconnect and the test passed.

 

Any thoughts?

 

My problem started in a hotel room where I have been using wireless internet for the past three days. I have not used the machine much with wireless since I just plug into network at home.
