We have a big W2k8R2 server with Hyper-V. We use nmm 2.2.1. Backup of the Hyper-V guests always succeeds (APPLICATIONS:\\Microsoft Hyper-V).

But backup of SYSTEM COMPONENTS:\ nearly always fails.

I found no clear explanation in the logs nor in powerlink. Errors are:

64466:nsrsnap_vss_save:PS: (CMTDXlator::ProcessFilesForComp)  FAILED Writer Name: 'System Writer'
48462:nsrsnap_vss_save:PS: (CMTDXlator::ProcessSelectedComponent)  FAILED
48462:nsrsnap_vss_save:PS: (CMTDXlator::ProcessWriterSavesetComponents)  FAILED
48462:nsrsnap_vss_save:PS: (CMTDXlator::ProcessWriterSavesets)  FAILED
48462:nsrsnap_vss_save:PS: (CMTDXlator::PrepareSnapshotObjects)  FAILED
NMM .. Error generating files and directives list for the backup.

Any idea how to trouble shoot?
