Hi. I have a Dell Vostro 3590 Laptop with Intel i5-10210U 1.6GHz processor and AMD Radeon 610 Series 2GB GPU. However, most of the latest games requiare a bare minimum of 4GB graphic memory. So I want to upgrade my GPU to something better. Is it possible? If it is, what is the procedure for the upgrade?
Well, I had a feeling it would be the case but i wanted to get confirmatio from someone with better knowledge at this. Thanks. On that note, if i were to buy a laptop whose gpu can be changed with time, which specification should i look for? I now know that i atleast have to select one which does not have its gpu classified as "discrete". Is there any other specification that i should look for while buying one which allows me to upgrade its gpu from time to time?
There's only one Alienware system with a moderately upgradeable GPU - the Area 51m R2. And that uses a proprietary GPU, so you're limited to what Dell offers in the way of upgrades (which in turn is limited). A couple of the 7000 series Precision workstations also have replaceable GPUs, but the current and immediately past models also use the DGFF proprietary card format, which will limit upgradeability.
If you want a notebook with a truly upgradeable, standard MXM GPU format, one of the sole remaining options is a Clevo-built large-chassis gaming/workstation system. These are sold by "boutique" custom builders - Sager, AVA, Falcon Northwest, OriginPC, Xotic PC and a host of others. They're shipped out as "whitebooks" without branding and the assembly house assembles to order, sometimes even offering custom painting of the chassis, wraps, etc. They're the only remaining, really upgradeable game in town. These are not $1,000 systems -- they're high end systems. There's nothing in the price range of a Vostro with an upgradeable GPU.
@NelspruitSeeker You can upgrade it's cpu to intel i5 10G or intel i7 10G. It will only support these two.You can also upgrade your RAM but it will only recognize upto 16 GB. If you want, there is bunch of options for storage too. You can visit Kingston or Crucial official website for more informations.

Welcome to the Dell Community @kishan.R
Sorry but it cannot be upgraded as it is "Discrete Graphics"
