PocketCloud external resolution

I don't own PocketCloud yet but it looks very interesting. My question is, if I would connect my ipad 2 to say a 1920x1080 resolution screen, what would it look like. Would the desktop actually be that resolution, or will it look like an upscaled ipad. I need the screen estate, because the programs I use are no good in the ipad resolution. And with a connected external screen how would the ipad be used to control the mouse cursor?
