Hi,

I originally thought of upgrading my Alienware x51's GPU alone, to a GTX 970. After looking around on many forum posts I decided that it would just be easier if I bought a new case and PSU as well, to allow for further upgrading in the future. Is this a good idea? I have little to no experience building computers, hence why I decided just to buy an Alienware in the first place, rather than building my own. I've just decided that now I need to upgrade and I was wondering if this would be a good way to start.

My current specs are:

Intel Core i5 4460 @ 3.20GHz

4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745

Alienware 0PGRP5 (SOCKET 0)

The parts I am considering upgrading to are:

Corsair CC-9011079-WW Carbide Series 600C Case

Corsair CP-9020048-UK Builder Series CX600 600W Power Supply

EVGA 4GB GeForce GTX 970 GPU

And an extra Samsung 850 EVO 1TB 2.5 SSD

Is this a feasible build at all? Would I be able to move the motherboard, hard drive and CPU over to the new case without much experience at all? Would all of the components work together?
