I have an XPS B1000r that had a very very noisy fan. I followed all the things the Dell site said to do, got advice from dell online and eventually called customer support. A very patient tech person heard the noise, walked me through disconnecting the fan and then agreed to send me a new fan. Last night I installed the fan and so far am very happy-the fan on these computers are louder than most but this fan doesn't have the annoying high pitch whine like the other and I can't hear it across to room or upstairs. When you get a new computer especially one that costs this much you want everything perfect and when it isn't you get really disappointed-something I'm not sure Dell understands. Regardless, I have regained my excitement for my new PC (after 2 months) and hope this PC is as good as the ones I use at work and the one I had before.
