I have a Precision T3500 thats a few years old now, I would like to upgrade the CPU from a W3520 to a W3570 / W3580 to get a bit more speed and make better use of the 12 gig of 1333 ecc ram. The OS is Windows 7 64bit.

The motherboard DP/N is 0XPDFK.

I have searched and found that the Intel xeon W3570 / W3580 are fitted to the T3500, these two processors have a higher QPI speed than the W3520 >> W3565 CPU's. In this forum I found a post from SpeedStep, that listed CPU's for the XPDFK m'board the W3570/80 wer'nt mentioned.

The Question is; Will a W3570 or W3580 xeon processor work with my 0XPDFK motherboard, and if so will any changes need to be made to the system.

Some help on this one would be much appreciated.
