I currently own (sadly) a dell i5100 that obviously has a ever so fun problem of overheating and shutting down (had it for over a year and a half and its been doing it sense week 3!)  First thing that happened to me was one of my memory dims went dead but dell wouldnt cover for me because it was a refurb so I gave up on that.  That was about 2 days before I started having problems w/ my computer shutting down that was now running at 256 slow mb's.  I dealt for about a year until the second BSOD fix I had to do on it, and bought a cooling fan, which fixed the problem (or so I thought) for about 4 months.  Then all of a sudden BSOD came back, but this time something crazy happened.  I started to attempt to start my computer and it would lock up before it could Blue Screen me, or it would simply get to the regular desktop and shutdown, even for this computer I found this odd.  So I got a linux disk from my buddy and booted off CD-Rom, and not so much to my suprise the computer worked great.  But for giggles I decided to reset the computer and try booting off hard disk, but now something odd happened, nothing.  Hard drive is now dead and I've been told by a computer tech that I trust that the mother board has gotten so damaged from the heat in the past that its almost gone too so I'm limited to linux (not a bad thing) but I have no hard drive to do anything like saving info with until the motherboard goes too and then, what can I do.  I still owe dell money on my account for a computer that is for all purposes worthless, any suggestions on what I can do?
