I have an Inspiron 5000e and, every since I installed Win XP on it, it will not run off the battery! When I plug it in to the power adapter, the green battery light blinks once or twice, and when I check the battery power level, it says it is something like 97% charged, and when I go to system divices and check the battery it says it is working Ok, but the computer will not start or run on battery. It will olny operate when plugged in.

I searched the driver download area for battery drivers for Win XP, but it said there were none for this computer.

Any ideas? It worked Ok till I upgraded the software.
