CPt keyboard has terrible bounce
The keyboard on my CPt laptop has developed a horrible bounce and otherwise tempermental behaviour. It's become very difficult to type on at all without constant re-typing and backspacing.
It seems some keys like E and O give 3-4 characters per keystroke and characters like space sometimes don't register at all. Sometimes the bounce is odd, with the bounced character repeating AFTER another character has been typed (e.g. often "on" winds up as "oono" or "-ing" on the end of a word will wind up as "-ingn" or "inngn").
I have tried cleaning the kb as much as possible and blowing it with compressed air without success. I wonder how much of this problem is mechanical and how much mimght also be electronic.
Being that this is a laptop kb, replacement isn't as easy an option as with a desktop. Any ideas what could cause this? If electronic, what would be the problem and the fix? If mechanical, then what would be recommended?
The Dell Diags detected no problems; the kb works, it just BOUNCES! ARRRGH!
