PC 5324 - New install - Project - Help Please

All Branches are on the same domain and connected p to p T1’s.  The purpose of this project is for Branch1 to pick a computer and put it on the network at branch2 without changing a thing.

In this process, we are moving/installing new machines from Branch1 to Branch2 using their existing computer names and IP addresses.  For connectivity between the two different IP networks of Branch1 and Branch2, LAN routing needs to take place between existing machines at Branch2 and New/Moved machines from Branch1. (My customer doesn’t want to have to deal with changing any IP Addy’s)

1)      Physically install switch into rack located in basement of Branch2.

2)      Plug Laptop into any available Ethernet port on switch to configure.

3)      Configure the switch (Dell PC 5324) as follows:

          a.       Configure port 24 as Backbone to existing Branch2 network

          b.      Configure port 24 with an IP address of 192.168.2.253 (Branch2 Gateway)

          c.       Configure remaining ports (1-23) on switch as network as follows:

                               i.      192.168.1.0/24  Gateway 192.168.1.252

ii.      Enable full routing between ports 1-23 and port 24

4)      Plug backbone cable from Exiting Branch2 Ethernet switch into port 24 of layer 3 switch.

5)      Plug all Branch1 (new and existing) machines into ports 1-23.

6)      Test connectivity between Branch1 and Branch2 machines.

Route may need to be added for 192.168.3.0/24 network as well to allow access of Branch3 machines to the 192.168.1.0/24 network of Branch1 machines.
