C600 - "Processor Start Failure" w/ new mobo & bios update
Ok, here is the story. My c600 power input failed, and being of limited financial resources, I figured a $40 mobo from ebay is at least worth the gamble.
So I swapped the motherboards, and it seemed like everything is the same (same part numbers, etc). Upon boot up, I find that I need to update the bios. Fine, I updated from A07 to A23. Now, upon boot up, I get an error message that reads:
"Processor start failure. The revision of motherboard does not support the processor installed."
I can bypass the error (hit f6 then f4), and it boots fine. I'm typing this on the c600 in question right now. But, I am not content to have this message show up every time. Am I putting the computer in danger by bypassing the error, or is it just a bug? I don't see why it would be a problem, since its working, and it is almost an identical board with UPGRADED bios.
Any thoughts? Thanks in advance
