All my Shared Folders & Files are Locked
I cannot read, write, move, copy, nor delete any file or directory under my shared folder. I am runing Windows XP Home w/SP2 and I beleive the root cause is from running Disk Defragmenter. This problem appeared right after I ran it. Have you heard of any problems with running Disk Fragmenter on a NTFS file system running Windows XP Home edition? I have tried 2 system restores without success since they don’t affect files or directories. I have also downloaded a program called “Unlocker” which claimed to be able to unlock any and all files and directories, but that didn’t work either. I have logged on as the administrator by pressing F8 during a reboot and running Safe Mode to try and change the security, but this did not work either.
Got any ideas give, let me know. I plan on reinstalling XP this weekend.
