Can Burn, But Not Play CD/DVD

After two years with no problems, I burned a CD today and then tried to check if if had written correctly. When I tried to look at it, I got this message:

D:\is not accessible incorrect function

I then put the CD into my other CD/DVD player and got the same message (except drive E, of course).

I figure it did not burn correctly, and did it all again with the same results. I booted up my laptop and both CD's were fine. I tried other disks (music, install disks, etc. and none worked). There are no problems with the drivers according to device manager.

No new hardware, ZoneAlarm did upgrade this a.m.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Dave
