Lost computer claim

I ordered a Dell notebook on 8/27/24. It was due to arrive on 8/29/24. It did not show up that day. I called FedEx the next morning and they said it was lost but they just found it and it would be out by the end of the day. It did not get delivered. The next day, Sat Aug 31 I called and I was told that it was never handed off to the local office and I should see it the next business day, which was Tuesday 9/3/24. The morning of 9/3/24 I got an email stating that my package was lost and to have the shipper file a claim. That evening I got another email saying that the package was delivered. For proof of delivery the had a single page that just stated the facts about what was being shipped and to whom. I also said it was delivered but there was no proof of delivery. No drivers name, no signature or no picture of the delivery. Also, that notice of delivery is created when they scan a package at delivery. Why did it take 5 days for that email to get to me?

I called FedEx and told them that I never received the package so they open another investigation to see what happened. When a called back a couple of days later I was told that the gps tracking on the truck showed that they never got anywhere near my house and that they had no proof of delivery like a signature or photo. I was instructed to tell Dell to file a claim for a lost package.

When I contacted Dell support they said that the package was delivered and the case was closed. I was told to contact warranty verification to file a case to investigate. They said the case was closed because it was delivered. I talked to FedEx a couple of times after that and they said that the package was lost and to have dell file a claim. At one point a support supervisor called me on my request and he said that he found out that there was something strange going on at my local FedEx office and he was going to look into it and get back to me in 24hrs. That was 2 weeks ago.

I am a 73 year old man on ss and I don't have an extra $1,000 to pay Dell for a computer that I never received. There is no way to contact the warranty verification team except by email when they feel like it. It took me 3 emails in two weeks time to get a reply form them and that was that the computer was delivered and the case is closed.

All I want them to do is to file a missing package claim with FedEx. I don't think that is too much to ask. If they don't want to do that they can send a letter on Dell letter head saying that Dell is allowing me to file the missing computer claim.

Can someone give me a person that I can talk to who has authority to help me out?
