Recently, I had to reinstall Windows and get a new motherboard and memory due to my machine crashing.

Now, the computer does not detect my microphone.

I use a voice recognition program using a headset with a microphone. I can hear sounds through the headset but my computer isn't detecting the microphone at all. whether I have it plugged into the front or rear jack.

I have a Dell Dimension 9150, that's now running Windows XP SP3

In the Control Panel, the default device for voice is Sigmatel Audio. When I run the Sound Hardware Test Wizard, even with the volume turned all the way up, my voice is not detected.

I have a different headset that uses the USB port, and that works fine. I don't have many USB ports, so I'd rather use my headset that uses the sound card.

Any ideas of what I need to do? I'm thinking a driver might be missing.
