An adapter... without a plug???
I have always been a Dell customer and I always thought I would be.... till this. I ordered a Dell Studio 17 laptop and it arrived. I love it, the color, its operation, everything about it. But I also ordered a spare powercord with it so I wouldnt have to keep moving stuff around when I want to work in another room for a long duration. It was not sent with the shipment. I called Dell and they sent a replacement straight away, so everything was hunky dory until I actually received it. I got the adapter, but to my utter surprise and dismay, it didnt have the plug. Upon calling customer service and then looking online, I found out that not only do you have to check that you want the adapter, but you have to check the box to get the plug that actually lets the adapter work. I'm sorry, but what kind of racket is this? I can understand a higher price for it if it were bundled, but to actually have to purchase two different components for one operation... power to the computer... is absolutley ridiculous. I blame myslef in a way for not being observant when ordering in the first place, but seriously, wehn you check that box for an extra adapter, most people assume that the power cord comes with it... it USED too anyway. Why the change? Why should people have to order two seperate parts when it should be considered one? I was a loyal Dell customer and was very happy from my previous experiences but when a company starts charging for every single nuance of a system that is costing hundreds to thousands of dollars already, then I think its time to start searching for a different brand. I plan on buying the dang power cord because of the convenience that it will provide, but the inconvenience of the entire process has really bothered me. Again, an adapter without a plug included?
