I have a desktop and laptop. The desktop is in the kitchen. I want to move it to another room which doesn't have a phone line.  The laptop is wireless.  It would be difficult for me to run a phone line to this "new" room.  I have a router/modem through verizon.  This is plugged into the back of the CPU through a ethernet cord and inot the phone jack in the kitchen. 

 

How do I go about getting this wireless once moved into the "new" room?  I went to staples today and they showed me something to buy. It was like a memory stick.  They said that I may need to contact verizon to get help with this but I'm not sure.

 

Any help that anyone can give is appreciated.
