I see a few people have had problems with this drive. My problem is that it does not or will not write to a blank dvd.

I have contacted the dell help desk and after 4 phone calls, two promises to phone back (no-one did), a telephone number to ring (not in the office today and I doubt if it will help anyway) and fours of the most useless computer technicians I have ever come across, I am beginning to give up.

The drive works well whilst playing dvd's but just plain will not write.

When I try to write it gives the following problems depending on how it is feeling:

1) Blue stop screen error
2) Will not recognise the dvd writer as having anything in it
3) Nothing at all

I have a dimension 9200 and everything else is fine.


Any suggestions?
