Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.

Link didn't work, regarding the .exe file. However, I found a Win 95 version of it, and now the HD is ready for use.

Jan.

I had a question to ask, and this seems like the place to do it.. I have a Dell Latittude that has interchangeable drives (cd-rom/floppy).I just bought a brand new Hard Drive and bought a boot disk for it..The installation on the floppy went well, but how do i continue the installation for the cd-rom if i have the floppy drive in and can't have the cd-rom attached at the same time?

Get one of the many Parallel Port cables for the Floppy Drive ONLY off Ebay for the C series, and hook up the Floppy Drive with it. If you are installing W2k or W-XP, those CDs are selfbooting, as long as the CDROM is in the Media Bay; with W98 or Me, you need the Floppy in use along with the CDROM to boot it and allow installation of those 2 OS. The other option is a Boot CD which will allow boot the CDROM and allow a Hot Swap to the CD for W98 or W-Me; with that method, the floppy is not required

The A12 BIOS for the CPi seems to be a good one and anything up to 60gb will work as long as the C: Drive Partition is not larger than 32gb. Then use the remainder as a D: drive

I am ready to by a new HD for my LAtitude CPi a09 Bois.  The old HD was moisture damaged and needs replacing.  The Lap top was unuasble for a while.  I can boot to the BIOS and it boots to a W98 boot disk.  Will I have success intalling a lager HD (was 4.86gig) with a 10 or latger gign HD?  Should I flash the BIOS with the A09 ver or should use latest ver??

  Thanks

Your finding that a link didn't work on one of the Dell Support pages is exactly one of the things that makes DELL's support tools so maddening.  I also found that dead link and tried to let Dell know using their e-mail support. Well, it seems that this e-mail support is 100% computer robot-answered, so the correction was never picked up.  Months later, the dead link remains.
