Did R81871.exe solve Hard drive ticking problem?

Question

hi all, did the firmware for HTS548060M9AT00 solve the ticking problem? my notebook is inspiron 510m that just bought at this Jan, because of the difficulty of creating a boot media (i had no flobby drive) so i wish to get some experience from you all. And did my 510m which just bought already using this upgraded firmware? how to check it? thanks for sharing

Check out this site: http://www-306.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=TPAD-HDFIRM   Discinfo.exe is a Microsoft Windows utility that can check the firmware of a HTS548060M9AT00 drive. I see it more as a band-aid fix, until perhaps Hitachi provides a firmware upgrade to truly address the problem.   J.
