Joe,

Hover your mouse over the Product Support tab above, click on the Downloads link, then enter information for your system.
Dell has a update / patch for Sonic`s software, this has helped a few, give it a shot. If it does not help, disable Sonic`s DLA program from Start up, this too has caused many issues.

Best Regards

Unfortunately this misbehavior is not limited to the Sonic application.

Sonic`s DLA program and REcordnow has nothing to do with games either but it caused problems.
Again, whether it will help you I cannot say, only a suggestion, try it, don`t, your choice.

Best Regards

Thank you. I did install the fix.  The only confusion was I wasn't sure whether the fix was already included in the version I had since I recently bought from Dell (11/31/2004).  Also on the download when I went to a previous version it actually described a fix related to the tray not opening.  Does the more recent update include the fix that was in  the previous version? This all would be a lot clearer if these systems folks realize who the audience is and get a bit more descriptive.  Thanks again for interest and advice.
