You should have two 3.5 inch bays, and two 5.25 inch bays. The HD's you have now are in the 3.5, and your CD-ROM (or whatever you have) drive(s) are for the 5.25. If you have an open 5.25, you can buy a mounting bracket that will allow the smaller HD to fit in the bigger bay securely. You will need an adapter if you have two optical drives already in use.
I have 8400. I don't know how different it is from 8300, but I just installed third hard drive in the bay under the floppy drive. All 3 drives are SATA. I don't know if it is supported officially, but it fits there just fine with a smaller set of green rails. It seems that CPU shroud fan works a little bit harder now, which makes sence.
