Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.

The drive could be dieing, or it could just be a driver issue.
Start by deleting the device from the device manager and rebooting.

Any possibility that you may have inadvertently picked up some DVD- media and are trying to use it by mistake?

No i definately am using the right dvd's.  Now the player does not recognize cd's or dvd's and Dell is sending me a new drive.
