The hard drive on my 600M runs @ 40C. It also sits under my left palm, making extended typing uncomfortable. The utility does not help cool my HD since there is no internal fan to cool it. I use an external fan on it, but it doesn't help much. Lots of posts in the forum about the same thing. I haven't found an answer. It appears to be a design flaw. Would like to hear from others on any solutions.

Hi Isg,
when my HDD is at 40 or so it is quite ok....but 50C and it's quite hot under my hand...I have turned the CPU fan up and that seems to keep the HHD temp down a bit, and I have decreased the time before the HDD turns itself off.....but still, if I am using the PC for any reasonably constant disk access it gets up to 50C and stays there even when I have the processor fan on slow and the processor down around 40C.... :-(

And with my USB ports dead I can't even put an external keyboard on it!!
