Sonic DVD/CD Burner software on my Dimension 8400 doesn't work

Question

Several months ago I purchased a Dell Dimension 8400 desktop with dual CD/DVD-RW burners.  However when I tried to use the Sonic software that came with the system I find it is only a demo version and any time I try to burn a CD or DVD the program sends me right to the Sonic website instructing me to purchase the full working version if I want to burn CD's or DVD's.   I have contacted Dell several times about this and when I talked to someone that actually spoke english I was told that whatever is on the computer is what there is and nothing else is available.  I was under the impression that working CD/DVD burner software came with the system.  So now I am paying for 2 almost useless CD/DVD drives.  Any suggestions on possible options??

Hi Whiteagle,I believe Dell may have an update for your Sonic software in their File Library. Hover your mouse over the Product Support Tab above, click on Downloads and Drivers, enter information for your system and broswe the updates.I have some information on this software in Section 13-0 of the CD/RW link in my post.Best Regards God, grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do and the eyesight to tell thedifference.
