how to work the cd/dvd combo drive

Question

I just got my notebook today.  It is the 8600.  I am trying to figure out how to use the dvd/cdrw drive.  When I try to put a cd in it does not go down over the little thing that holds the cd in place.  Am I doing something wrong?  How do I get the cd in the drive?  Thanks for any help.

You have to put some pressure on it.

I've tried pushing down on it but it not going on.  I am going to call customer service. thanks
