please tell me what you did with your problem i seem to have a similar problem with my inspiron 1150 and sony cd rw dvd crx830e it does not play any cd and it was working a few days ago.... it makes a beeping noise as if to read the cd but does not play it. ive tried restoring my system and everything it doesnt help. the device manager shows it is working properly what do i do????
I emailed dell and they sent an auto reply with some options of what you can do. running the system diognostics and some other things but none of them worked for me. I had to fill out a form and send it back in an email, I am currently waiting to hear back. I think I might have to send in either my drive or entire computer. I'll let you know what happens
I had to keep doing what dell told me to but nothing they told me to do helped. Eventually I wrote them and said that everything they asked me to do didn't work, they responded and told me a replacement was on the way. I recieved it five days later. I am currently burning dvd's :manvery-happy:
I have a Dell Inspiron 5150 with an ND 5100A drive as well (or very similar, at least). Same problem! clicking, then failure. reformat didn't work. new drive didn't work. intermittent. What the heck should I do?
