Maybe in the past, but not any longer. The same companies that build the Dell Latitude and Inspirons for Dell, build the PowerBooks and iBooks for Apple. Inside, they're more alike than different.

I haven't been inside the new Apple LT's so I guess I missed something.
Looks like they (Apple) might be getting smarter maybe?

They have the same problems as all laptops do except they cost 2 times as much to fix when they break.
I have used and worked on both over the years.

The easy way is to get an External USB 2 case like this one:

I have one and it works great.
Also, is the hd 2.5" or 3.5"?
It's 2.5".
