Get a DVD burner(writer). This will do it all--burn both CD's and DVD's and let you listen to CD's and watch DVD's.

I would do dual drives so u can burn on the fly.  and if something happens to one of the drives u can still use the other one.

that drive can burn upto speeds of 48x and can read speeds of 48x.  If I were in your shoes I would get the dvd combo drive, it will say something like cdrw/dvd.  That way you can burn cds with that drive, read cds, and play movies.  Then for your second drive I would get the dvd+- rw.  that way u can burn on all types of media that is for sale right now, and be able to read all types of media let alown burn or coppy cds and dvds on the fly.

You really need to go to someplace like www.pcworld.com or www.pcmag.com and do some reading, as you don't understand much of this.

A CD ROM drive can burn NOTHING.  It can play CDs.

A CDRW drive can burn CDS and play CDs.

A DVD ROM drive can play DVDs or CDs.

A DVD burner (+ or -RW) can burn DVDs, burn CDs, play DVDs, play CDs.

A combo drive is simply a CDRW combined with a DVD ROM device - in other words it can burn CDs and play DVDs or CDs.  It CANNOT burn DVDs.

There is no such thing as a "dual drive".  That means you are getting TWO drives, and they aren't the same usually.
