Thanks...I wil check but I doubt that I still have a warranty..that's why I am looking for diagnostics and advice on my own...but it's worth checking. Thanks again!
do you still have an active warranty? if that's the case, a noisy hard drive usually results to a bad one (one which will not allow your system to boot w/o warning) in the long run. it would be best for you to back-up your files while you have access to your operating system. whether or not the diagnostics result = no failure, you gotta replace the drive or have dell replace it for you (active warranty) for stability purposes...
