Check that the drive is recognized and enabled in the BIOS.
If so, look in the Device Manager for an Error Code or
problem.

Thx Skybird,

The drive is not seen in the Bios and as such is not seen in the device manager.  I was thinking of flashing the Bios with version A06.  Think this will help???

Although the drive is not recognized in the BIOS, is that
IDE channel enabled (AUTO or ON or whatever is available)?

When you installed Windows 2000, did you install the Chipset?

If it still does not show in the BIOS, consider clearing the
NVRAM here ...........

I have downloaded the chipset exe file as well as how to clear the NVRAM.  I will try this over the weekend and post the outcome.

Thx for the great help.
