oops sorry forgot i was still in the harddive forum sorry about that.
the reason is because i want to do a clean install of windows because i want to remove the raid 0 so i can have two independent hardrives and to do that i will lose my current installation of xp home and therefore i will put windows xp back on that i got from pc world a while ago so i need to reinstall all the drivers for the mainboard and other hardware thats on there and just need to find out what hardware i have so i can download all the drivers first.
i also took this number of the mainboard when i openend it up CNOX8582-70821-579-H025 if this helps.
I went thru the same ordeal about the Motherboard..your stuck w/the Motherboard that is delivered with your DELL..the Motherboard is matched w/its CHIPSET design..so you should know that Manufacturerer..I did the same Nuber SEARCH that you seem to have come up with..
I placed the number I could find on the Board in to a SEARCH Engine and Hit-GO..it was a real no-where search..
So I went w/the INTEL objective and the Motherboard is basically A Custom Part-order for DELL Desktops..INTEL has no real Tech Support for that Part #.
Just manage your Desktop in DELL Support..go w/the Upgrades it will suggest regarding a Service Tag..
From there its more or less some New Design concerning radical improvements.....Purchase.
Do you need to get the info on the motherboard or the chipset that runs the motherboard?
I would think you need to know the chipset. You can find out by going to the Intel site and look on the site for a link that has something like "how do I find out what Intel chipset I have" - then a link to a program to load that will run on your computer and tell you exactly the chipset installed. My 9100 had the 945G installed. Also, do you have the restore disk from Dell? The drivers should be on that disk.
Maybe we should switch computers. I have a 9100 I'm going to set up a Raid 0 in probably. Are you having problems with your raid set up? Or just worried about losing one of two drives?

Try this page http://http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/ to check your chipset info. Then the program if you care to run it is on: http://http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/inf/sb/CS-009266.htm
Maybe we should switch computers. I have a 9100 I'm going to set up a Raid 0 in probably. Are you having problems with your raid set up? Or just worried about losing one of two drives?
Hope this helps a little.

Yes the INTEL website has a small software program that weill describe the Quality of your Motherboard..
You must DownLoad it to your PC and then Run it/..
It is a very nice piece of INFO..
But then the Motherboard is a Custom Design that INTEL delivered to DELL..your stuck w/It.
