Latitude D600 CD/DVD/CDRW Drive Problem

Question

I have a D600 that recently had the hard drive cleared.  I thought when I got it it had a CD/DVD/CDRW drive but when I look at the properties of the drive it says that it is just a CD/DVD drive.  When I reboot the laptop and enter setup its says in my boot order page that I have a CD/DVD/CDRW drive.  I have BIOS V16 if that has something to do with it.  Did I put the wrong driver on?  If anyone can help point in the right direction so that I can determine the true type of drive that I have it would be greatly appreciated.

The correct driver is supplied by Windows and all optical drives
use the same ones. Look in the Device Manager and click the (+)
next to DVD/CD-ROM drive and post the Brand and Model of the
drive and we will identify it.

The TEAC DV-28EC 8X DVD-ROM Drive is not a writing drive.  It can read-onlyDVD and CD media.  user's Guide is here ........... http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/storage/P67216/en/index.htm

Thanks, I was wondering if anyone else might be able to tell me how exactly I can find out if I have the correct drivers loaded to my computer

The correct driver is the one supplied by Microsoft (dated about 2001).
Windows installs it and all optical drives use the same ones. You may
be referring to Firmware. The latest is a DOS based version here ........
