They do not come with a System Restore CD (by default) if you do not choose to order the disk. I believe the price is $10.00 when purchased with the system.  if no System Restore CD was ordered the system should have come with on-board recovery. You might want to order a System Restore CD because If the hard drive ever fails the on-board recovery is lost as well

The CD is a Dell branded OEM Windows Installation CD, and may be termed a Recovery CD, but is not an image-based System Restore CD. The CD was previously shipped with the system, current policy is to provide upon request, if requested within the warranty period.

Systems shipped in the last year and a half or so also include the Dell PC Restore feature, a utility and an image stored on a "hidden" partition on the system drive, away from the C: partition. This feature is somewhat vulnerable, but may be exactly what you are looking for.

Did you read the Owner's Manual section about restoring your hard drive with Dell PC Restore function where you reboot and hold CTL+F11?

Hey, thanks!

I appreciate the info.

I think I know the answer to this question, but I'll ask anyway: Will Dell PC Restore by Symantec restore the registry if it has been corrupted?

Thanks,
John

Everything on the C: partition will be replaced by an image of the original C: partition, including the original registry and all factory installed software.
