Since it only has problems with reading DVD-ROM discs, have tried updating and/or uninstalling / reinstalling your DVD decoding software?
Happy New Year !!

Forgot to mention that it plays DVD Video discs fine, it is just DVD-Rom Data/Software that it will not read. The light blinks for a bit and then nothing happens!

Another thing to check, see if the drive is running in DMA mode and not PIO mode. Click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 15, article 14.

Thanks again for the suggestion.
DMA is enabled.
Having read some other posts it may be relevant that the disc in question is a game disc.
I have managed to test the drive with othere DVD-Rom discs and it works fine.
I have disabled Sonic DLA as suggested elewhere.
Any other possibilities?
Thanks,
Nick
