I have a year and a half 600m and want to replace the OEM 30g HDD. Any suggestions? What specs I should look for?

Any 2.5" 9.5mm drive will work fine that's a PATA (parallel ATA interface). Western Digital, Seagate, and Hitachi are among the better brands.
The recommendation will actually depend on what you want to use the notebook for.
Both notebooks will use any 2.5 inch 9.5mm notebook hard drive. The 7200RPM drives are fast but they cost more. As for how much storage you need (60GB, 100GB or whatever) is really dependant on your needs.
