I had a similar problem and suffered the time-consuming tech support routine. I was finally able to resolve the problem by using system retore under Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. Try restoring to a date when the drive actually performed correctly.
Thanks very much. I took your suggestion, and I finally found something that worked. It seems to me that this drive does not interact too well with certain software. I restored my system to an earlier time and the problem went away. After many calls, emails, etc, etc. The problem is solved. Thanks again.
