Hitachi Travelstar 7K100 80GB ATA-6 2.5in 7200RPM

Question

Hello all, I have an inspiron 8100 and am wondering if this drive will work in it?   Anybody have any experience with this drive?  I understand the higher rpm really improves performance.   Thanks

I have not personally used that drive in an I8100 but it should work.

I also have a Inspiron 8100 and I am just curious to see if this hard drive worked for jwc19.  The link that bobyjo posted is for the 5400RPM drive. I was thinking about ordering the 100gb 7200RPM version but wanted to make sure that it would work. If not, I will just get the 5400RPM version.  I really want the faster drive though.   Any advice will  be greatly appreciated.

The computer doesn't care what the RPM of the drive is, it will work fine.

This drive works great in my 8100. Easy to install, didn't even have to revalidate win xp.   MUCH faster, and no more annoying clicking sounds from the drive!   Justice
