This link does not have the Inspiron 8100 listed as compatible. I was thinking about ordering the 100gb 7200RPM version but wanted to make sure that it would work. If not, I will just get the 5400RPM version. I really want the faster drive though.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
The computer doesn't care what the RPM of the drive is, it will work fine.

This drive works great in my 8100. Easy to install, didn't even have to revalidate win xp.
MUCH faster, and no more annoying clicking sounds from the drive!
